Sales Engineer – Civil Infrastructure / Roads & Pavements

An exciting opportunity for a technically minded Sales Engineer to join a growing business within the civil infrastructure and construction sector.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of business development, technical sales, relationship management, and project-based solution selling. You will work closely with contractors, asset owners, and consulting engineers across the roads and pavements sector, helping deliver innovative infrastructure solutions across Queensland.
You will be responsible for both hunting for new opportunities and managing inbound enquiries, while building long-term relationships across the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure meetings with asset owners, consulting engineers, contractors, and key project stakeholders
- Develop and grow a strong pipeline of opportunities from early-stage concept through to tender phase
- Promote and present technical solutions within the roads, pavements, and civil infrastructure market
- Assess client and project requirements and provide suitable technical recommendations
- Work closely with the Engineering Team to deliver tailored technical proposals and solutions
- Manage and maintain CRM records, including projects, contacts, opportunities, and stakeholder engagement
- Build and strengthen relationships with decision-makers across the construction and pavement industry
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Support tender submissions and supply proposals for short and long-term contracts
- Negotiate commercial agreements and client-specific proposals
- Provide pre-sales and after-sales support, including occasional on-site assistance
- Attend industry events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings
- Increase revenue across existing accounts while identifying and developing new markets
- Work collaboratively with sales and engineering teams to achieve business growth targets
About You
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in business development, technical sales, or a related role within construction, civil, or engineering industries
- Strong understanding of pavement construction, asphalt, roads, or civil infrastructure projects
- Existing industry network within roads, pavements, civil contracting, or consulting engineering is highly regarded
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering and/or Business
- Confident communicator with strong presentation and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, commercially driven, and comfortable working autonomously
- Strong customer service mindset with a solutions-focused approach
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
- Comfortable engaging with contractors, engineers, and asset owners
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence
