Position - Account Manager

Position Purpose

The Account Manager is responsible for growing and retaining revenue within an assigned portfolio of accounts and sectors. The role focuses on building strong client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, supporting renewals, and ensuring day-to-day commercial engagement is proactive, consistent, and well coordinated.

This is a market-facing role with accountability for account performance, customer engagement, pipeline development, and revenue forecasting.

Our Client:

A scale up automotive tech company growing in the US and APAC regions. Specialising in roadside assistant platforms across multiple devices.

The business has grown from $3 mil to $30mil in the last 6 years and will double in the next 12-24 months. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Grow and retain revenue across assigned accounts and sectors.
  • Develop and execute account growth plans for priority clients.
  • Identify cross-sell, upsell, and new opportunity pathways within existing accounts.
  • Maintain strong client relationships across executive and operational stakeholders.
  • Support contract renewal and retention outcomes.
  • Maintain pipeline visibility, CRM accuracy, and forecast reliability.
  • Act as the commercial lead across the assigned portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain formal account plans for assigned clients.
  • Build and manage relationships across all relevant client stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers to understand needs, priorities, and opportunities.
  • Identify and progress growth opportunities within existing accounts and target segments.
  • Lead commercial coordination and issue resolution across assigned accounts when required.
  • Prepare account management reports, updates, and client insights.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline updates, and activity tracking.
  • Provide accurate monthly revenue forecasts and contribute to sales review processes.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to support customer outcomes and account growth.
  • Represent the business professionally and maintain a visible presence in the market.

 

 

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in account management, business development, customer success, or relationship management roles.
  • Proven ability to grow customer relationships and support retention outcomes.
  • Strong commercial awareness and customer engagement capability.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders across client organisations.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and progress them in a structured way.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in B2B, service-based, or relationship-led environments is highly regarded.

Success in the Role

Success will be measured by account revenue growth, client retention, renewal performance, pipeline development, relationship strength across accounts, forecasting accuracy, and consistent delivery of account plans and customer engagement.

Role Expectations

This is a highly market-facing role with an expectation of regular engagement with clients and prospects. The Account Manager is expected to spend significant time in market, maintain strong stakeholder coverage within accounts, and contribute directly to the growth and retention of the business.
